Contemporary furniture brand based in Canada.
'EDITS' refers to the iterative design process and their ambition is to create modern designs of exceptional quality that appeal to their target market: design-savvy millennials. Drawing inspiration from modern architecture and contemporary interiors, EDITS aims to collaborate with some of the most exciting and essential furniture designers in today's market. Their design language blends modernist design principles with new-century minimalism, and as a result, they needed a consistent identity that effectively conveyed this attitude.

While developing the visual execution, we explored a broad range of potential paths. The brief asked for a wordmark, specifically a thorough investigation into Swiss typefaces. I experimented with various technical fonts and decided to develop something more modern and direct. The final wordmark is sans-serif, minimal in essence, and represents the refining process often involved in furniture design. The wordmark is a variation of Helvetica Neue Medium. We paired this with a graphic font named Soehne, which included both printed and online communication.
EDITS garnered attention online and through social media, winning several awards, such as the "Winner of Good Design Award" by the Chicago Athenaeum. They also earned nominations for "Dezeen Awards 2019", Interior Design Magazine's "Best of the Year 2019", Western Living Magazine's "Designers of the Year 2019", and most importantly, Archiproduct's "Winner" of the Design Awards 2021.
